What Is A Brain Map?
Also known as a Quantitative electro encephalogram, your brain map will measure your actual brain activity, analyze the data, and create a visual representation for each lobe of the brain and each specific brain wave (Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta).
How Is It Done?
The test is totally painless, and takes about twenty minutes to perform. The test is done using a nylon cap that has 19 sensors to measure your brainwave output. Then, your EEG results are compared to a database of established standards of normal brain function to determine where the brainwave imbalances are.
What Types Of Brainwaves Are There?
There are 4 main brainwave frequencies, and each of them regulates a different part of our body. From sleep, to emotions, to logical thought, brainwave balance is very important to good brain health.
These are the slowest brain waves, at 1-4 cycles per second. They are associated with the deepest levels of relaxation and restorative, healing sleep. However, too much Delta brainwave energy is typically associated with individuals who have challenges with focus and concentration.
These brainwaves are more active when you are thinking logically. Having the right amount of beta waves allows people to think more clearly. Too much Beta brainwave energy can lead to anxiety, and in the extreme, panic attacks.
This frequency range bridges the gap between our conscious thinking and subconscious mind. It helps us calm down when necessary and promotes feelings of deep relaxation. However, if there are too many Alpha waves on the right side of the brain, it can create slower brain processing, negative tendencies, and even full-blown depression.
Theta waves are involved when with deep emotions, and both short and long term memory. Improving Theta brainwave balance can lead to improving your memory, add to your creativity, and can make you feel more natural. It is also involved in restorative sleep.
